Who Decided Beds Belong Indoors?

Who Decided Beds Belong Indoors?

When we were little,

the world had wonderfully loose rules.

A blanket became a castle.

A chair became a train.

The garden became somewhere else entirely.

And a bed...

Well, a bed could be wherever the story wanted it to be.

Somewhere along the way,

we became wonderfully sensible.

Beds belonged in bedrooms.

Work belonged at desks.

Lunch belonged at noon.

Dreams belonged to the night.

Life became beautifully organised.

Perhaps a little too organised.

We stopped asking questions that had no practical answer.

What if a bed spent the afternoon outside?

What if lemons belonged on the sheets instead of the kitchen table?

What if the best part of today was something nobody had planned?

Not because it made sense.

Simply because it made us smile.

Perhaps imagination never really leaves us.

It just waits for an invitation.

Sometimes all it takes is moving one familiar thing into an unfamiliar place.

A bed into a meadow.

A breakfast onto the floor.

Flowers where nobody expected them.

And suddenly, the ordinary remembers how to surprise us again.

After all... who decided beds belong indoors?

A Little Reminder

Some ideas are too beautiful to make perfect sense.

Worth Falling For

Read

The Little Prince — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
A gentle reminder that growing up and growing old are not quite the same thing.

Listen

Clair de Lune — Claude Debussy
Music that leaves just enough room for imagination.

Watch

The Secret Garden
A story that quietly reminds us every garden hides another world.

Notice

How easily children believe an ordinary place can become somewhere entirely different.
Perhaps they know something we've simply forgotten.

Keep

Your sense of wonder.
It was never meant to stay in childhood.
